Rearcross travelled to Villa Park in Roscrea last Saturday to take on a strong Killavilla side. Conditions were ideal for the game and both sides gave it everything from the start. It didn't take long however for the home side to take the advantage when a low ball from close range found the corner of the Rearcross net after 10 minutes. It could have been worse for the visitors minutes later when Liam Crump saved a near certain goal minutes later. Rearcross created their best chance of the game in the 15th minute when a Cathal Dervan cross from the right was met by Aaron Lenihan whose effort just went wide of the post. For the remainder of the first half Killavilla started to dominate the play and were rewarded with a further 2 goals before the break. The second half saw little joy for the visiting team as Killavilla continued to push forward at every opportunity. The Rearcross defence did their best to deny the home side but could not sustain the pressure. Killavilla went on to add another 4 goals in the second half leaving the result in doubt.
